Tell Us What Is Happening With Your Floor

If your floor is damaged, soft, squeaky, sagging, uneven, water-damaged, cracked, buckled, or simply does not feel right, start with what you know.

You do not need to diagnose the problem before requesting an estimate. Tell us where the issue is, what you see, hear, or feel, and anything you know about how it started. Floor Repair Pros serves homeowners throughout Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and surrounding communities.

What Should I Include?

A simple description is enough. You can tell us what the floor looks, sounds, or feels like and whether anything happened before the problem appeared. Helpful details include:

  • The room and exact area where the problem is located
  • The flooring material, if you know it
  • Whether the floor feels soft, loose, bouncy, uneven, or unstable
  • Whether it squeaks, creaks, cracks, or moves when walked on
  • Any visible damage such as cracks, swelling, buckling, stains, broken tile, or damaged boards
  • Whether a toilet, sink, appliance, pipe, or other water source leaked nearby
  • When you first noticed the problem and whether it is getting worse
  • Any previous repair work in the same area

You do not need construction terminology. “The bathroom floor feels soft next to the toilet” or “the hallway squeaks every time we walk through it” is useful information.

Photos Can Help

When the problem is visible, photos can help us understand the area before we follow up. Upload up to six images if you have them.

  • One or two close views of the damaged area
  • A wider photo showing where the problem sits in the room
  • Visible cracks, swelling, buckling, staining, broken tile, or damaged boards
  • Exposed subfloor, joists, or other damaged material if already visible
  • The area around a known leak or water source

Photos are useful context, but they cannot always show hidden damage underneath finished flooring.

What Happens After You Submit the Request?

1. We review the information you provided.

Your description, property location, and photos give us a starting point.

2. We follow up if more information is needed.

Some problems are easy to understand from the initial request. Others need additional questions because similar symptoms can have different causes.

3. The affected area is evaluated as needed.

The goal is to determine which part of the floor system is involved and how far the damage extends.

4. The repair scope is defined.

Once enough information is available, the work required for the affected area can be established. For the full evaluation sequence, see Our Floor Repair Process.

Can You Price a Floor Repair From Photos Alone?

Sometimes a photo shows enough to understand a simple visible problem, but many floor repairs involve conditions that cannot be confirmed from an image alone. Soft floors, water damage, subfloor deterioration, sagging, movement, and joist concerns may involve hidden materials.

Any estimate should reflect the actual repair conditions rather than assume that the visible surface tells the entire story.

Do I Need to Know Which Floor Repair Service I Need?

No. You do not need to know whether the problem involves the finished flooring, subfloor, joists, moisture damage, or another component before requesting an estimate. Describe the symptom and we can start from there.
